“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.”
Even in times of trial there are signs of success. Over the past 4 years there have been many exciting things happening for the Ballinger Bearcats and LadyCats.
Ballinger has had four State titles in girl’s powerlifting over the last three years thanks to the efforts of Angelica Fuentes and Rebecca Simpson. Their model of success will continue to give girls a goal to strive for over the coming years.
On the softball field three seasons ago the Ballinger LadyCats made it to the playoffs for the first time in the programs history. They have now made it three consecutive seasons and with a roster loaded with returning players they don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.
This past season the Bearcats found similar success on the diamond and won their first playoff series in the schools history. There are some key losses that the Bearcats need to get over next season, but like the LadyCats there are many players coming back to set this team up for success over the coming years.
On the court for the Bearcats and Ladycats we will be seeing new philosophies as the school welcomes new coaches for both teams. It will be interesting to see what the new coaches are able to do with the raw talent that they have available at their disposal.
On the gridiron everyone tapped in to the program seems to have a similar feeling. Things are changing. Whether it be this season or next the Bearcats look to be turning a corner that could set them up for many years of success. The coaching staff has fought against bad habits and tried to instill a winners mentality on a team that has not experienced much success lately. If the tides are truly changing for the Bearcats they have the athletes in 3A to become a dangerous team in the very near future.
