The Miles Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week is Apat Karmany.  He is a senior and the son of Ella Mandagan and William Karmany, III.

As a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), he is the chapter President and has served as Vice-President of Competitive Events. He has completed four of the five units of Power of One including A Better You, Family Ties, Working on Working, and Speak Out for FCCLA.  He plans on competing in Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events dealing with the national program, Student Body.  For his STAR Event project, he is working to raise awareness of health problems associated with mineral deficiencies.

Apat also participates in one-act play, UIL poetry, and high school athletics. He currently represents MHS as mascot. He plans to attend the University of North Texas majoring in performing arts, vocals, or communication.
