The Miles Career and Technical Education (CTE) Project of the Week is “Encouraging Children To Read.”  This project includes the Readers of the Week program, where students in first through third grades are recognized for their reading at high school pep rallies, and an opportunity for first graders to read to high school students.  Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members responsible for this worthwhile project are Libby Crouch, Abby Trimble and Amcinda Orantes.  As members of FCCLA, they hope to enter their project for competition at the Region II meeting in February.

Libby Crouch is the daughter of Sarah and Zane Crouch.  She is a freshman and a member of FCCLA, high school cheerleader, and participates in volleyball, cross country and tennis.  She hopes to attend Angelo State University and pursue a teaching career.

Abby Trimble is the daughter of Cassie and Terry Trimble and Kelly Hays. She is a member of FCCLA and Vice-President of the Freshman class. She participates in volleyball, basketball, track and riding. She plans to attend Texas A&M to become a veterinarian.

Amcinda Orantes is the daughter of Amanda Dobson and David Reddy.  She is a freshman and the FCCLA Vice-President of Projects and Programs. She participates in volleyball and is interested in singing and writing.
