I apologize for typing this thank-you note on my computer. I would prefer to personalize a card, but many of the great things that were done for my family were anonymous. Words cannot express my gratitude to BISD, the Bearcat Booster Club and other community members for the expressions of sympathy at the passing of my mother. The funeral home and church were packed with flowers and plants, a great number of which were from Ballinger residents. We received cards/letters/meals/gift certificates and my lawn was even mowed while we were in Brownwood! The icing on the cake was when I walked into the church auditorium and saw the entire football team in attendance at the funeral. There was definitely a tear in this coach’s eye when I saw our boys, dressed in their red shirts. At the cemetery, after the service, the funeral director told me that he had been in business for 30 plus years and had never seen an entire team attend a funeral. My family is touched and honored by the many acts of kindness we received this weekend. Ballinger is a special town and Bearcat Nation takes care of its own! The last couple of days have been tough on the Jones family, but your love, kindness and prayers have comforted us greatly! Thank you for allowing me to be your coach and feel a part of this great community. Go Bearcats!!
