BALLINGER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO PERFORM IN TMEA REGION 6 ALL-REGION CHOIR CLINIC AND CONCERT SATURDAY

In auditions for TMEA All-Region Choir, held Saturday, October 1st, at Permian High School in Odessa, Jackson Miller and Zakk Ottmers took places in the choir by placing in the top six chairs of their sections. Zakk took second chair in Tenor 1, and Jackson took the top chair in Bass 1.

These will participate in the TMEA Region 6 All-Region Choir Clinic and Concert at Lee High School in Midland this Saturday, November 5th. The concert is set for

6:00 PM. Admission is $5:00, and is open to all. Jackson and Zakk would appreciate your presence.

These students also advanced to Pre-Area Auditions for Small School All-State Choir, to be held November 17 at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene.

Jackson, a junior, and Zakk, a senior, were members of the Region 7 All-Region Choir last year. They are both very active members of the Ballinger Bearcat Band, and Zakk has served as Drum Major the past two years. They have both played major rolls is several Theater Arts Productions,

and have both taken Division I (Superior) ratings on vocal solos at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Other students who participated in the auditions were B. J. Colombo, who was named second alternate in Bass 2, Laura Brown, Clarice McKinnon, Raven Parra, and Michael Young. These prepared several difficult pieces for the auditions, and were competing for a very limited number of places and with a very large group of competitors.

We extend our very best to each of these as they continue to develop their musical skills.
