For anyone who loves Western Swing Music, the Big Country Christmas Ball in Snyder, Texas is the place to be on December 10th. Landon Dodd & the Dancehall Drifters will be playing at THE COLISEUM for a full night of music and dancing. 2016 marks the event’s 13th year under the leadership of Snyder chairmen, Charles Church, DVM, Kinney Hart and, Cindy Wright, along with numerous committee members. The Ball benefits West Texas Rehabilitation Center, a nonprofit organization with a mission of providing outpatient rehabilitative care to children and adults…regardless of a patient’s financial circumstance.
Landon and the Dancehall Drifters travel the great state of Texas playing traditional country music and western swing. As part of a country music festival, Landon has also played internationally in Scotland and England. Music and “honky tonkin” was in his blood at an early age. Singing in church at the age of 3, Landon often crossed the spiritual with country music. Landon studied music at the university level and played in bands…also forming a few of his own. In 2006, he formed the Dancehall Drifters. Since that time, the band has won several awards and opened for country legends such as Johnny Bush, Johnny Rodriguez, Earl Thomas Conley, Gene Watson, Moe Bandy and more. Named as the Pure Country Band of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists in 2009 and Landon as Male Vocalist of the Year in 2011, this is a band that will keep you on the dance floor all night.
On December 10th, doors will open at 7:00 pm with the dance at 8:00 pm through Midnight. No reservations, but table and chairs will be on hand for your convenience. Admission tickets are $15 at the door and coolers welcomed but please…no glass containers. As part of the activities, raffle tickets will be available on numerous donated items that will be on display and drawn for that evening.
