Hello To All:
H.M. and Maureen went to Ballinger after church on Sunday. They ate at Maureen’s favorite place, The Golden Chick. After lunch they went to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church to attend another celebration for the retiring sheriff, Bill Baird, of Ballinger. Sheriff Baird will officially retire at the end of December. He thanks all the people of Ballinger for giving him the opportunity to serve 33 years.
It has been a quiet week out here. I am about well from that cold. Judy is about three days behind me in her recovery. Seems like everyone out here has a cold or something. What burns me is that I had avoided going to stores in town and that is where I usually catch someone else’s cold. Blame the dang cats I guess.
We have not done any Christmas decorating so far. Maybe later next week. Our new neighbors across the road, Esley and Jessica, have been putting up lights and wreaths and stuff. Esley posted a picture on face book of him standing on the very top of a ladder stringing lights on the carport. I was going to yell,”Get down from there”. If that ladder wobbles just a little he is going to come off of that ladder and do a backwards two and a half gainer in the tucked position like Greg Louganis and crater in the driveway. So, you probably won’t see any lights up around my house.
The lady at the post office has decorated the inside nicely. She has put up three small trees with boxes under them and wrapped up the door like a package. Ashton also has a small nativity thing on the counter. There is one rain deer back by the table. Ashton said that the annual Post office party will be the morning of Dec. 22 from 8:00 -10:00. There will be punch and cookies.
I have not been out to check the rest of Talpa for decorations. If it warms up just a little I will drive around some and report back.
So it goes in our quiet little corner of Coleman County.
