Ballinger High School senior, Logan Tounget, signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Angelo State University beginning in the fall of 2014.  Logan has had a successful high school career in golf thus far through her junior year.  She qualified for the Region II-2A golf tournament in Odessa as a sophomore and as a junior, also qualifying for the 2A State Golf Tournament in Austin her junior year.

 Logan is quite talented in other areas as well: UIL Editorial Writing State Competition Qualifier, state level saxophone solo-ensemble performer, state qualifier in the FFA Radio Team, National Honor Society President, Student Council President and the Abilene Reporter News Star Student Silver Star Award recipient. Logan starts her senior golf season this spring.

The Ballinger girls’ cross country team and Logan Reyna competed at Regionals last Friday at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.  The girls’ team finished 14th overall led by  Holly Huston, who finished 28th overall.  Logan Reyna finished 15th overall, qualifying him for state with a 16:56.  He will run at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas next Saturday at 10:10 a.m.

Last Monday, the Lady Bearcats finished second at the District Cross Country Meet in Ballinger. Four Lady Bearcats finished in the top 10, including Holly Huston (6th), Avery Schniers (8th), Mackenzey Sanchez (9th), and Taryn Kalina (10th). Gabrielle Hernandez finished 15th, Hannah Huston 20th, and Julie Fischer 26th. Ballinger girls finished second behind Jim Ned and in front of third place Wall. The boys team finished fourth behind Wall, Grape Creek, and Jim Ned missing Regionals by one place. However, Ballinger had two top 10 finishers that are headed to Regionals; Logan Reyna finished second and Adam Flores seventh. The Regional Cross Country Meet is Friday, October 31st at Mae Simmons Park, and the girls run at 11:00 am followed by the boys at 11:30 am.
