The JV Baseball game against Wall on Friday has been rescheduled for Saturday at 10:00 am. The game was rescheduled due to the fact that Wall does not have lights on their field which prevents us from playing Varsity and JV both on Friday.

The Ballinger Lady Powerlifters traveled to Mertzon TX to compete in the Division 3 Region 1 Championships.  The Lady Cat Lifters placed 2nd out of 46 school represented.  Leading the way with a total of 1055lbs in the 198lb division Rebecca Simpson with first place and Regional Champ.  Rebecca broke and set the record for all three lifts in her weight class with 455lb Squat 200lb bench and 400lb Deadlift.  She was Top Deadlifter for the Heavy platformsShe is my first girl to Deadlift 400lbs.  First Place and Regional Champ along with Top lifter in the Light-division with a total of 1050lbs in the 148lb class Angelica Fuentes.  Angelica also broke and set the records for all three lifts with a 465lb squat 225lb bench and 360lb deadlift.  Angelica and Rebecca are my first two girls to break 400lb Squat and 450lbs squat and 200+ bench press.  Madison Watkins set a personal record total of 795lbs in the 165 lb class with a  2nd place standing at Regionals.  Tiana Sanchez placed 4th place in the 105lb class with a total of 580lbs.

Kaylin King was unable to finish competitionbut has gained valuable experience for next year to come. Rebecca, Angelica, Tiana, and Madison all Qualified for State Competition in Corpus Christi March 14th.  Im pleased to be coaching such fierce and hard working girls that are not afraid to put in the effort of becoming better at their craft.  Next up for the Powerlifitng Team is Boys Regionals in Sundown Texas.

The Ballinger Boys traveled to Eldorado Tx this last weekend to comptete in the Last Regional Qualifier Meet of the Year.  The Ballinger Boys came out on top for first place Team Trophy with 49pts.  Leading the way was Senior Lifter Auggie Woodruff who came in first place in 220lb class and Best Lifter Trophy for the heavy platforms with a personal best total of 1700lb.  First Place John Cuellar in the 198lb class  with a personal Best Total of 1440lbs. 1st place Willie Collins with a personal best total of 1230lbs in the 165lb class.  First Place in the 123class Sean Gonzalez with a personal best of 895lbs...2nd place Sean Schaefer in the 165class with a personal best of 1205lbs  2nd place was Steven Kirk in the 181lb class with a personal best of 1195lbs.  3rd place in the 198lb class Daniel King. 3rd place Clayten Crabb in the 148lb class with a personal best 1045lbs. 2nd place in the 275lb class with a personal best...Ballinger Has 9 Boys Qualified and that  is most  in our Region for the last 3 years.  Ballinger has a total of 14 kids Qualify for Regionals Boys and Girls. Everyone that has started out the season will travel to Regionals.  I'm proud of my kids because they prepare well mentally and physically. Out of the 16 kids on the team one lifter sophmore Adam Multer wasnt able to compete this year due to an injury but still trained what the doctor told  him that was ok for him and really pleased at another freshman Adrian Pena for working hard and taking this experience from this year to be motivated and prepare for next year's Powerlifting Season.  The Girls Regional Meet will be held in Mertzon TX at 9am admission is 5$ and there will be concessions Available.

The Ballinger Powerlifters competed in Brady at the Heart of Texas Championships last Thursday.  All 5 of the Lady Cat Lifters Qualified for Regional Lifting to be held in Mertzon, Texas on Feb. 28th.  A few boys participated in the Brady meet to help their chances for their last Qualifier this Saturday in Eldorado, Texas.  The Boys last Qualifer will be held in Eldorado, Tx at 9am and Girls Regionals will be in Mertzon, Texas Feb. 28th at 9am..The Ballinger Girl Powerlifting team has only 5 lifters and is Ranked 16th out of 25 top teams in the NATION for Power Rankings on . Angelica Fuentes and Rebecca are ranked State wide in the Power Rankings and Nationally as well for the Ladies..Auggie Woodruff is ranked 49th Nationally out of 100 in the Power Ranking and 22nd in the State of Texas out of 100 Power Rankings...

The 250 athletes and cheerleaders who will make up the all-star class for Big Country Chevy Dealers FCA All-Star Festival featuring the 15th Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Myrle Greathouse All-Star Classic, the 6th Annual Ladies Basketball Game, the 2nd Annual Men’s Basketball Game, the 2nd Annual Ladies Volleyball Game and the 1st Annual Baseball and Softball Games were announced Sunday.

The 2014 Big Country Chevy Dealers FCA All-Star Festival, includes ladies and men’s basketball in Brownwood on June 12th, baseball and softball in San Angelo on June 13th and a volleyball-football doubleheader, is scheduled for Saturday, June 14th in Abilene. The ladies and men’s basketball games will be at the Brownwood Coliseum and will tip off at 6pm and 8pm respectively. Softball will be at the ASU field at 4:30pm and the baseball game will be at 7pm at Foster Field, home of the San Angelo Colts.  The All-Star Volleyball game will start at noon at the Wylie High School Gym followed by the football game at 7pm at Shotwell Stadium.

All proceeds benefit the Big Country Chapter of the FCA.

All participants will be honored again at the All-Star Festival Induction Banquet on April 27th at the Abilene Civic Center.

Annual Award winners will be honored at the Area FCA and AYSA Awards Banquet on May 17th at ACU’s Hunter Welcome Center.

Teams, cheerleaders and coaches report for two-a-day practices in Brownwood on June 10th and in Abilene and San Angelo on Wednesday, June 11th.
