Ginger Test: Stars of Texas Demonstrator
1/29/2009 (contributed)
Ginger Test, of Novice, Texas, is an avid photographer who
gathers her inspiration from nature. She is a watercolorist, who
paints realism with a hint of impressionism. Her unique contemporary
style features subjects such as cowboys and life in West Texas, as
well as wildlife, churches, flowers and Indian pottery.

One of her favorite subjects is hummingbirds and she has even
received mail addressed to the Hummingbird lady, Novice, Texas.
These paintings are rendered with the painstaking detail for which
she has become famous.
Since 1982, Ginger has shared her knowledge by teaching workshops
for those who want to learn the art of watercolor. She regularly
teaches workshops in Alpine (March), Pampa (April), Mason Wildflower Workshop (April 17 &
18th), Mason County Fall Workshop (Oct 30-31), and a week long
Colorado Gold Workshop in South Fork, Colorado (Sept 14-18th). Mrs.
Test teaches weekly classes in Abilene, Brownwood, Coleman and San
Angelo.
She is a noted demonstrator and lecturer. She particularly loves the
reaction and enthusiasm of the children at the Stars of Texas.
Ginger and her husband live in a refurbished school house perched
atop a small hill
west of Novice. They've turned this into a charming home, retreat,
wildlife habitat and art studio. Their small ranch keeps them
occupied with twice daily visits of white-tailed deer, two cats, a
Great Pyrenees and two horses. Hundreds of books and a stuffed black
bear complete the comfortable den.
Ginger has had many one woman shows such as The Coleman museum
(March 2008), Ruiz Gallery in San Angelo (June 2008), Artist of the
Month for the Abilene Creative Arts Club (Dec 2008) and the Scott
and White Gallery in Temple. Her paintings are displayed in homes
and offices throughout the United States, Japan,
Germany and Switzerland.
Upcoming demonstrations are Coleman Fine Art League (Feb 19th),
Brazos West Art Association (May 2009), Comanche Art Association
(May 2009) and just finished a demonstration for the Abilene
Creative Arts.

Mrs. Test had 3 paintings accepted into the Coleman Dragon Fly
juried show and was an accepted artist in the Stars of Texas in
2008. She is a member of the Brownwood Art Association, Coleman Fine
Arts League, Abilene Creative Arts and The Texas Midwest Artists of
Ballinger
