Boise State Sports & Entertainment Group is described as a “full-service department” to supports athletics and entertainment at Albertsons Stadium and ExtraMile.
BOISE, Idaho — From Post Malone to Luke Combs, The Blue has hosted some big names over the years — and Boise State Athletics isn’t slowing down.
The university announced the formation of Boise State Sports & Entertainment Group on Thursday. It is described as a “first-of-its-kind” department for college sports and the beginning of a move to expand entertainment opportunities at ExtraMile Arena and Albertsons Stadium year-round.
Led by Nathan Burk as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Lisa Cochran as the Executive Director, the department builds on the numerous years Burk and Cochran have with Boise State Athletics operations.
Burk previously led facilities, capital projects and other events and joined the athletics department in 2021.
Cochran returns for year 27 with Boise State, overseeing concerts and events with a team of professionals across the Treasure Valley, including concerts at Albertsons Stadium and the Idaho Botanical Garden.
“With the increasing demand to host more special events and create revenue opportunities to support our Bronco student-athletes, this is the necessary next step to signal to industries outside of college athletics we are a top destination for major events,” said Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State Director of Athletics.
Dickey referenced past musical events and events coming this summer, such as Hot Wheels Monster Trucks, which is making its first ever stadium performance, and Banana Ball.
ExtraMile Arena, which first opened in 1982, is already home to numerous events and concerts throughout the year, and this program just continues to support that entertainment, Dickey said. Over 400,000 fans were hosted from 2025-26, according to the university.
The Sports & Entertainment team will also oversee local events across the venues, including the Stueckle Sky Center, which a news release states is a popular location for weddings, events and galas.
The recent creation of the new North End Zone provides additional space with three new event areas available. The new area is expected to open later this summer.
Boise State Athletics is currently working with MMQ Group to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate structure and potential areas for expansion. That study is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
