Baystate Health hosts emergency preparedness sessions for EMTs

AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – An EMS training program took place at Six Flags New England during this EMS week. The event brought together EMS professionals and healthcare providers for hands-on learning.

They focused on emergency response and disaster preparedness. EMS physician Seth Kelly said though they don’t happen often, low frequency disasters are important to prepare for, “so, bringing people together to not only learn the skills that would be necessary for those but also build relationships, meet one another, and make sure you know who you would be responding to in the area, in the region is really important as we prepare those types of events.”

Attendees participated in simulation-based scenarios as well as a mock mass casualty event.
