Baldwin Wallace will be one of eight teams competing later this week in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship finals at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake.

CLEVELAND — The upcoming NCAA Division III baseball World Series taking place in Eastlake will have some local representation.

Baldwin Wallace University on Sunday completed a two-game sweep of Messiah (Penn.) and punched their ticket as one of eight teams competing in the finals of the Division III Baseball Championship. The double-elimination championship round will start on Friday, May 29 at Classic Auto Group Park, home of the Lake County Captains.

The Yellow Jackets, ranked no. 10 in the country, hosted Messiah after cruising through the NCAA Tournament Regional in Decatur, Ill. last weekend with three wins. BW beat the 2025 runners-up 4-0 Friday in game one of the Super Regional, then returned to the field Sunday morning after a weather postponement and advanced with an 11-2 win.

BW defeated Ohio Northern in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship game earlier this month. The Yellow Jackets are 36-10 overall on the season, and carry a 12-3 record in the OAC.

The D-III Baseball Championship officially kicks off with an opening ceremony and barbecue on Thursday before games begin the following day. The best-of-three series to determine a national champion will begin on Wednesday, June 3 and conclude on Thursday, June 4. Tickets can be purchased online here.
