EXCLUSIVE: Canadian actor Yanic Truesdale has signed with Mainstay Entertainment for management.
Best known for his role in the critically acclaimed series Gilmore Girls from Amy Sherman-Palladino, Truesdale recently wrapped a role in her Netflix feature adaptation of the beloved children’s book Eloise, opposite Ryan Reynolds, and has also been seen in Sherman-Palladino’s recent ballet-themed series Étoile for Prime Video.
Truesdale’s film My Salinger Year, where he appears opposite Sigourney Weaver and Margaret Qualley, opened the 70th Berlin Film Festival. He’ll next be seen in the upcoming Bell Media series Je Te Tiens.
Other credits include the Canadian production Les Mecs, which earned Truesdale a third Gemini Award nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy; God’s Favorite Idiot on Netflix, opposite Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone and Leslie Bibb; and Lifetime’s four-part mystery event series The Fallen Angels Book Club.
Founded by Norman Aladjem in March 2017, Mainstay’s other notable clients include David Archuleta, Tisha Campbell, Kim Coates, Rachael Leigh Cook, James Frain, Samantha Hanratty, Katherine Heigl, Laurie Holden, Chris Lee, Maz Jobrani, Aaron McGruder, Omar Benson Miller, Trevor Noah, Hayden Panettiere, Danielle Pinnock, Laura Prepon, Zach Sang and Roy Wood Jr., among others.
In film, Mainstay’s development projects include an adaptation of Trevor Noah’s bestselling memoir Born a Crime and the genre-bending Lionsgate vampire western The Sun Always Sets in the West, which shoots this year. On the small screen, Mainstay recently produced The Matchmaker with Patti Stanger at The CW, All Access Grand Rapids PD at Discovery ID, Viajes Con Los Derbez at Univision/Amazon International, doc films with The CW on Raquel Welch, Joe Frazier and Luke Perry, and a new untitled cold case series at ID.
