Memorial Day weekend brought a two-night celebration of local music to For The Record in Beaumont, with nine bands performing styles that included hip-hop, swamp rock, electronica and alt-punk.
Nine cameras also recorded the performances and crowd, capturing the Southeast Texas music scene for a live album and videos expected to be released later this year from the For The Record Live event.
Featured acts were NuSoul, Psycho Jenni, Ramblin Boys, Hot Grits, Sancho Baker, No Clue, Aepshyt, All Hope Came Down and Zero Found.
The all-ages event drew its largest crowd Saturday night, when people filled the parking lot at the Calder Avenue venue.
“With it being a holiday weekend and the rain, you never know what to expect, but the turn-out has been really great,” John Trenbeath, co-owner of For The Record, said. “We’re just happy to be part of this [local music] adventure.”
