The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Delaware held its 129th annual convention at the Cambria Hotel in Rehoboth Beach on May 19-21. Business sessions included guest speakers, presentations of honors, scholarship awards and charitable donations.
All Delaware clubs were recognized for giving over $100,000 in scholarships during the administration. A tribute was read from Gov. Matt Meyer. GFWC Delaware 2024-2026 President Jan Conant presided.
GFWC Secretary Susan Gettys was the keynote speaker. Workshops on finances for women and accessible gardening were led by Vicky Ann Trimmer, Esq. and Sussex County Master Gardeners, respectively.
Attendees, attired in red, white and blue, celebrated the 250th anniversary of the United States with a presentation, “John Dickinson, Delaware’s Unsung Founder,” by Dan Pritchett of UD Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
At the closing banquet Mindy Goss of Millsboro, a member of the GFWC Women’s Club of Indian River, was installed as the 2026-2028 GFWC Delaware President by Gettys. Goss has chosen “BEEs - BEE kind, BEE strong, BEE the change” as the theme of her administration.
