The Beverly branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1962 W. 95th St., will host the following events:
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, ongoing, for kids up to age 5.
Start a journey of reading 1,000 books with your child.
Read together over one, two or more years, earn prizes and make memories. Sign up to read 1,000 books for your newborn, infant or toddler before they start kindergarten. Then, keep track of how many books you read. It is acceptable to read the same book more than once.
Beverly Artist’s Studio, abstract drawing inspired by the art of Richard Hunt, for families with kids of all ages.
Explore your creativity with drop-in, family art-making activities developed in partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago.
Dungeons and Dragons, Thursday, June 11, 2 to 4 p.m., for kids 8 to 13.
Players’ characters will work together to solve mysteries and tell a story. New and experienced players are welcome. All materials are provided.

This group is open to anyone in needle arts including crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitch, crewel, tatting and other hand stitching.
Participants should bring their own supplies to work on their own project.

DIY Wind Chimes for Adults, Tuesday, June 9, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Create your own soothing outdoor decor in this hands-on wind chime making workshop. Using kits that include chimes, string, and decorative elements, participants will assemble and customize their own unique wind chimes.
