Multiple injuries reported after chemical explosion at Longview facility

LONGVIEW, Wash. (KPTV) - Multiple injuries have been reported after a chemical explosion at a facility in Longview early Tuesday morning.

The Longview Fire Department said there was a major chemical explosion reported at the Nippon facility, located at 3401 Industrial Way, at about 7:30 a.m. The facility produces paper products like tissue, printing paper and more.

Officials did not say what chemical was involved in the explosion.

There are several injuries being reported but the extent of those injuries has not been confirmed.

People should avoid the area and stay away from Industrial Way while emergency crews are on scene.
