Claire Rosinkranz’s discography is the musical embodiment of girlhood.
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter has gained recognition for her playful, breezy tunes, shooting to social media fame in 2020 during the pandemic with the viral success of her single “Backyard Boy.”
The daughter of Icelandic composer Ragnar Rosinkranz, she grew up in a musical household and began writing her own songs at the age of 8. She has frequently described her synesthesia, which causes her to interpret sound as shapes and colors, as a tool that helps her to conceptualize the music videos for her upbeat bedroom pop songs.
Rosinkranz has now made two studio albums, the most recent of which, “My Lover,” was released in February. Fresh off a tour with pop singer Alex Warren, she’s set to perform at the Independent in San Francisco on June 4.
