As Southern California gears up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Los Angeles is set to host free watch parties for all communities for free -- without having to purchase tickets or register.

Under the program called "Kick It In the Park," the office of Mayor Karen Bass, LA City Council and the Department of Recreation and Parks will team up to host the free, family-friendly events at city park sites, city officials said Tuesday.

"(The) partnership ... ensures the World Cup reaches every corner of the city -- from the San Fernando Valley to the Harbor, from Westside Parks to East LA recreation centers," the Kick It In the Park webpage noted.

Most celebrations will be free and open to the public, but officials encourage people to get to the events by riding their bicycles, taking LA Metro or walking to the nearest watch party.

What to expect from 'Kick It in the Park' events

  • Large mobile LED screens will broadcast every World Cup match in real-time.
  • Free youth soccer mini-clinics and skill activities will be offered at select parks.
  • Interactive family-friendly activities, arts and culture events will take place.
  • City of LA will have resource tables to connect residents with city services and community organizations.

When and where are the watch parties happening?

World Cup fans can enter their home address or neighborhood here to find the nearest watch parties and other details for the matches.

The free screenings will happen between June 11 and July 19 while the 2026 FIFA World Cup runs.

Additional World Cup celebrations

  • The Memorial Coliseum will host a festival from June 11 through June 14.
  • There will be Fan Zones across LA County, but some of them will require fees and other charges.
  • LA city libraries will be also broadcasting matches.
