THIS AFTERNOON, THE VIEW FROM THE STAGE OF THE $160 MILLION FORMER MUSIC CENTER REVEALED CONSTRUCTION CREWS HARD AT WORK. THIS VIDEO SHOWS HOW THINGS WILL LOOK WHEN CONCERT GOERS GET TO START SEEING SHOWS. THIS IS THE FUTURE OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. THE NEW VENUE ON THE SAME GROUNDS WHERE RIVERBEND AND PNC PAVILION STAND AND WHERE CONEY ISLAND ONCE STOOD, WILL FEATURE AMENITIES LIKE PRIVATE CLUB SPACES, ALONG WITH 25 BARS AND CONCESSION AREAS ON THREE LEVELS. THE VERTICALITY OF THE STRUCTURE, THE RESERVED SEATS AS WELL AS THE LAWN CREATE A MORE INTIMATE ENVIRONMENT. I THINK THAT MEANS A LOT TO THE REGION. COMPETITION HAS GOTTEN VERY DIFFICULT REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY FOR ARTISTS, AND IT’S IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE VENUE THAT ARTISTS WANT TO PLAY IN. AND CERTAINLY FANS WANT TO BE ENJOYING THE EVENTS IN THE. WHAT WILL END UP BEING A BIG MUSIC CAMPUS BETWEEN KELLOGG AVENUE AND THE OHIO RIVER COULD ONE DAY PLAY HOST TO THE KIND OF MUSIC FESTIVAL THAT DRAWS CROWDS FROM ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE MAJORITY OF THE SHOWS CLEARLY WILL BE AT FARMER MUSIC CENTER. RIVERBEND WILL BE USED FOR SPECIAL EVENTS, SPECIAL ACTIVITIES. BUT I THINK GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT FESTIVALS WITH THREE DISTINCT STAGES WITH FIXED SEATS AND LAWN SEATS, IT WILL BE AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. $160 million amphitheater in Cincinnati is set to open next spring
The Farmer Music Center, a $160 million venue under construction on the east side of Cincinnati, is set to open in the spring of 2027, offering state-of-the-art amenities and a reimagined live music experience.Located on the grounds of Riverbend Music Center, PNC Pavilion, and the former Coney Island site, the venue will feature private club spaces, along with 25 bars and concession areas across three levels."This is the future of live entertainment," an unidentified voice said in a promotional video showcasing the venue's design that played during an event on Tuesday.Michael Smith, CEO of Music and Event Management Inc. (MEMI), which will operate the Farmer Music Center, highlighted the venue's innovative design. "The verticality of the structure of the reserve seats, as well as the lawn, create a more intimate environment," Smith said. Smith also emphasized the venue's importance for the region and its ability to attract artists and fans. "Competition has gotten very difficult regionally and nationally for artists. And it's important that we have a venue that artists want to play in. And certainly, fans want to be enjoying the events in the facility," Smith said. The music campus, situated between Kellogg Avenue and the Ohio River, could eventually host large-scale music festivals with three distinct stages offering fixed and lawn seating. "The majority of the shows clearly will be at Farmer Music Center. Riverbend will be used for special events, special activities. But I think given the opportunity to present festivals with three distinct stages with fixed seats and lawn seats, it'll be an amazing experience," Smith said. In addition to enhancing the live music experience, the campus will include a monument honoring Donald and Marian Spencer, celebrated community and civil rights trailblazers.
