MINNEAPOLIS – Gopher soccer alumni Sophia Boman and Sporting JAX are set for the 2026 Gainbridge Super League playoffs when the postseason begins Sunday. Sporting JAX earned the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 seed Carolina Ascent on Sunday, May 24, at 4 p.m. CT. The match will stream live on Peacock.
In her first professional season, Boman started 28 games and logged 2,487 minutes. She has scored six goals and recorded seven assists.
The winner of Sunday’s match will face either No. 1 seed Lexington SC or No. 4 seed Dallas Trinity FC on Sunday, May 31.
Sporting JAX became the first expansion team in Gainbridge Super League history to secure a playoff spot in its inaugural season. The club has remained atop the league standings since Dec. 20, 2025 and enters the postseason as one of the league’s most consistent teams.
