ST. MARYS — St. Marys Area High School senior MaryAnna Sines concluded her high school choral career with a performance at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Chorus Festival, held over three days and culminating in a concert at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions.
The All-State concert was directed by Dr. Brian J. Winnie of Western Illinois University.
Sines performed alongside top student vocalists from across Pennsylvania and finished a lengthy PMEA participation record that included District, Region and All-State ensembles, as well as the NAfME All-Eastern Treble Choir last year.
According to program involvement records, the All-State appearance marked her 10th auditioned chorus festival selection.
Throughout her high school career, Sines also participated in IU9 music festivals, PMEA band, concert choir, concert band and multiple spring musical productions while remaining active in athletics and other school activities. She is also a recipient of the #AnchoredInMusic recognition.
School officials noted that the All-State performance served as her final PMEA concert as a senior and reflected years of preparation and commitment to the St. Marys Area High School music program.
In addition to Sines’ recognition, Levi Ginther of Elk County Catholic was selected for the PMEA All-State Concert Band. He attended the festival alongside director Adam Baranik.
During the trip, students also visited Bloomsburg University, where SMAHS Class of 2025 alum Lili McKay, an American Sign Language major and dance minor, provided a campus tour and hosted the group for lunch.
