Caesars Teams With Just One Project To Redirect Surplus Convention Food to Families

Caesars Entertainment has joined forces with The Just One Project, one of Southern Nevada’s leading food access nonprofits, to redirect surplus food from large-scale events and conventions in Las Vegas to families facing food insecurity across the valley.

The initiative channels leftover meals from meetings, conventions, and events held at Caesars resorts along the Las Vegas Strip — food that would otherwise go to waste — into the hands of residents in need. The Just One Project will regularly collect excess food from select events, package it safely, and distribute it through a network of partner organizations.

The program hit the ground running. A four-day conference served as the launch point, generating almost 4,500 pounds of extra food — enough to provide approximately 3,749 meals to local residents. Caesars also committed $50,000 to support The Just One Project’s broader food-access initiatives.

Describing the motivation behind the collaboration, Kiersten Flint, SVP of Corporate Social Responsibility and Internal Communications for Caesars Entertainment, said in a news release: “At Caesars, we’ve always believed that if we can make a difference, we should. For years, our teams have worked behind the scenes to make sure good food doesn’t go to waste. Partnering with The Just One Project allows us to do that more consistently and at a much larger scale — especially through the meetings and conventions that bring so many people to Las Vegas.”

Caesars’ HERO volunteer network will play a hands-on role, helping collect, pack, and distribute rescued meals alongside The Just One Project’s team. Flint underscored the personal stakes for those involved: “Our HERO volunteers care deeply about this community, and this partnership gives them another meaningful way to show up. At the end of the day, it’s about taking care of our neighbors and doing it together.”

Beyond food recovery, the partnership is designed to reduce waste, strengthen local nonprofits, and open new volunteer pathways for Caesars employees.

For Brooke Neubauer, CEO and founder of The Just One Project, the fit was immediately apparent. “What makes this partnership so powerful is how naturally it fits,” she said. “Caesars has the scale, and we have the ability to safely recover and distribute food quickly. Together, we’re making sure high-quality meals reach people who need them.”
