HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — UNC Health Pardee has announced that it is expanding its comprehensive cancer care services by adding on-site physical therapy at its cancer center.
According to a news release, Pardee Physical Therapy, A Department of Pardee Hospital (Oncology Rehab, has opened a specialized rehabilitation space designed to support patients throughout treatment and recovery on May 11.

The new specialized space is located at 805 6th Ave West, Suite 1oo, on the second floor of the Pardee Cancer Center.
Pardee Health says bringing these services under one roof makes it easier for patients to receive specialized care as part of their routine cancer treatments.
The oncology rehabilitation program will offer physical therapy services specifically to fit the needs of cancer patients, with a key focus of the program being the treatment of lymphedema in both the upper and lower extremities. The other key focus is improving upper extremity mobility for patients undergoing or recovering from radiation and breast cancer treatments.
The new facility also includes the following new outfitted treatment rooms designed for oncology rehabilitation.

“This new space allows us to better support our patients’ quality of life during and after cancer treatment,” said Dr. John Hill, medical director, hematology, oncology and cancer research, Pardee Cancer Center, in a news release. “By integrating rehabilitation services directly into the cancer care continuum, we are removing barriers and ensuring patients receive the comprehensive, coordinated care they deserve.”
