COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A local political expert is weighing in on the latest developments in South Carolina’s ongoing redistricting debate.
The South Carolina Senate is expected to pick up the debate on Tuesday after moving closer to passing the map over the weekend. The map would alter the state’s congressional districts before the June 9 primary, with any final vote happening after the start of the early voting period.
Willie J. Thompson, Jr., coordinator of Benedict College’s Interdisciplinary Studies department, sat down with WIS Sunrise on Monday to provide analysis on what has happened and what comes next.
